This year’s festival themed “Preserving Traditional Technology” highlighted various traditional skills related to canoe building and navigation. Although these skills are being used less and less today their practical uses are still viable and essential in a modern context.

This year’s festival had a broader participation from all of the communities on Yap and the Outer Islands with many more visitors from abroad who came to experience these unique traditional arts and skills.
