Yap FM – V6AI/KUTE, Yap’s public radio station, launched its online streaming service on September 16, 2026, giving the public another way to access local radio programming from Yap and abroad.

V6AI/KUTE previously offered an online stream several years ago through a partnership with the FSM Telecommunications Corporation (FSMTC). However, the streaming equipment eventually became inoperable, resulting in the discontinuation of the service.

The newly launched platform provides listeners with access to the station through its website at www.v6aikute.listen2myshow.com. Listeners may also access the stream through the Listen2MyRadio mobile application by searching for V6aikute.

The online service provides an important communication option for Yapese living off-island and it also offers an alternative way to access V6AI/KUTE programming in the outer islands while the station’s AM service is currently being worked on to come online.

“With an internet connection, anyone can listen to the station from anywhere in the world,” the Chief of Media and Protocol said.

V6AI/KUTE programming includes public announcements, job vacancies, local news and other information relevant to the community. The station plans to further develop its online platform by introducing blog posts and public event calendars, allowing listeners to access additional information and stay informed about community activities.

This not only provides information and access for the Yapese diaspora overseas seeking to stay connected to local events and news, but also gives international travellers a valuable insight into daily life and events on Yap.

As the online service was launched only recently, the station has not yet received significant feedback from listeners. However, the new platform provides an additional communication channel through which V6AI/KUTE can continue serving the people of Yap and maintaining connections with community members both at home and abroad.

The launch reflects the station’s continued efforts to expand access to public information and make Yap-focused programming available to a wider audience.
